Description
The C90 Becketts occupies an interesting place in Christopher Ward’s early catalogue, both in terms of timing and intent. Originally slated to become the fourth model in the C9 series, it ultimately developed into something more specific, created to mark the announcement that Silverstone had secured the rights to host the British Formula One Grand Prix for a further 17 years. That connection gave the watch its identity and its name, referencing the Becketts corner at Silverstone and anchoring it firmly in British motorsport history.
Launched in 2010 and later renamed the C90 Power Reserve after it emerged that the Becketts name was protected, the watch combined a restrained, dress‑leaning case with a motorsport‑inspired theme that stopped short of overt racing theatrics. The inclusion of a power reserve indicator added mechanical interest and purpose, echoing dashboard instrumentation rather than stopwatch timing. It was voted Watch of the Year 2010 by Christopher Ward Forum members.
