Warranty and authenticity

Authenticity

Every watch we sell is guaranteed authentic. If something isn’t right, whether the movement, dial, case, history or overall integrity, it simply doesn’t make it onto the site.

Warranty

Christopher Ward offers a five‑year transferable movement warranty from date of original purchase, which passes automatically from the original owner to the next.

Many of the watches we sell are still covered by this manufacturer warranty, and where applicable, we make this clear in the listing and include any accompanying paperwork.

For those watches where the CW warranty has or is about to expire, we sell our watches with a six‑month Ward Hoard movement warranty. This covers unexpected mechanical issues that occur under normal use.

Our warranty does not cover:

  • accidental damage

  • water ingress (unless expressly pressure‑tested and stated)

  • misuse, shock or impact

  • magnetism

  • cosmetic wear

  • issues clearly described in the listing

  • problems arising from unauthorised repairs or modifications

If a valid Christopher Ward manufacturer warranty remains, we’ll make this clear and include the documents.

Extended warranties are also available up to two years from date of purchase.

Condition and transparency

We sell (mainly) pre‑owned watches and honest signs of wear are normal. We photograph everything clearly and describe condition exactly as we see it — highlights and flaws alike — so you know precisely what you're buying.

Water Resistance

Pre‑owned watches are not guaranteed water‑resistant unless stated as newly pressure‑tested. If you plan to swim or dive with a watch, we strongly recommend a fresh pressure test.

Accuracy & Performance

Mechanical accuracy varies depending on age, movement type and service history. If a watch behaves outside reasonable tolerance during your warranty period, we’ll work with you to resolve it. In practice,
