Buying a watch

Finding your watch

One of the great pleasures of watch collecting is finding the right piece — whether it’s your first Christopher Ward or the next addition to a growing collection. From discovering the model that clicks with you, to upgrading, replacing or hunting down something rare, our aim is to make buying from Ward Hoard as simple, enjoyable and reassuring as possible.

Every watch on our site is carefully sourced, checked, verified and accurately described — so whether you’re brand new to CW or already deep in the hobby, you can buy with confidence.

If you are after a specific watch from the back-catalogue, please let us know and we’ll do our best to track one down for you.

Buy from us

Here’s what we focus on:

  • Your watch, your way: Whatever combination you prefer — head‑only, your choice of strap, or a bracelet upgrade — we’ll make it happen;

  • Authenticity guaranteed: Every watch is checked, verified and prepared by us. If something isn’t right, it doesn’t go on the site;

  • Accurately described: We describe each piece exactly as we see it, with clear, high‑resolution photography that highlights both the strengths and any honest signs of wear. What you see is exactly what arrives on your wrist;

  • Trusted: We’re well‑known on the Christopher Ward Forum (ttf23) and across the CW Facebook groups, with long‑standing positive references you can check any time. We’re extremely proud of our excellent Trustpilot feedback and 100% positive eBay reviews, built over years of transparent, reliable service;

  • Warranty: Each watch comes with a minimum six month mechanical warranty from us, with many having the remainder of CW’s original five year warranty; and

  • Returns and buy-back scheme: Not quite clicking? Send it back. Want to trade or sell later? We’ll happily buy it back or part‑exchange.

Why Christopher Ward

Christopher Ward sits at a rare intersection of British design, Swiss watchmaking and exceptional value. From the iconic Trident line to SH21-powered Atelier pieces and the award‑winning Bel Canto, CW has built a range that punches well above its price point.

If you’re new to the brand or want a deeper dive into the models, movements and generations, see our Buyer’s guide - a detailed “learn more” section designed to help you make the best possible choice.

If your collecting tastes stretch beyond CW, our sister site, the Second Hand Watch Collective (SHWC), (coming soon) showcases a curated range from brands we know, trust and admire. Think more Pinion, Elliot Brown or Halios and less Breitling, Omega or Rolex.

Shipping

We ship quickly and securely worldwide, using Royal Mail Special Delivery for UK orders and mainly UPS for international shipments. Full details here.

Usual delivery time for watches is 1 to 2 days (UK) and 3 to 5 days (USA and worldwide).

Watches to the USA can be sent either duty paid in advance (at 10% plus £8.50 UPS admin fee) or duty unpaid.

Part exchange

Part‑exchange is a practical, low‑hassle way to move from one watch to another. It means you don’t need to sell your watch first, avoid the cash outlay of buying outright, and skip the risk and effort that come with private sales.

If you’d like to fund your purchase from another piece in your collection, please take a look at the Selling section — the process is the same, with the added benefit that the credit goes straight towards your next watch.

“CW is our home territory, we know the generations, variations and quirks.

We genuinely care about these watches and about the people buying them. Whether you're starting your collection or hunting something rare, we’re always happy to help.”
