SOLD WH1829E C65 Aquitaine WatchGecko (12/2022)
Quick facts
Reference: C65 Trident
Category: Dive
Size: Medium
Movement: Automatic
Condition: Nearly new
CW warranty: Expires December 2027
Buy it if you want: a highly desirable limited edition regatta diver.
Description
The C65 range only really came into focus in 2018. Earlier uses of the name were essentially variations on the C60 and never quite stood on their own. That changed with the release of the C65 Trident Diver, which marked CW’s first deliberate move into the retro dive space and the point at which the C65 became a platform rather than a side note. This was also the first diver to use the Light‑catcher case, bringing a more sculpted and fluid profile to a category that had previously been more utilitarian in CW’s lineup. From there the C65 quickly expanded into a broader family, covering vintage divers, military styles and more experimental offshoots, and in the process began to rival the C60 as the brand’s defining dive watch.
Launched in November 2022, the C65 Aquitaine WatchGecko is the first collaboration between WatchGecko and Christopher Ward. The dial is inspired by the history of regatta races such as the America’s Cup. This watch comes with both the original Christopher Ward steel bracelet and a collaboration exclusive Christopher Ward + WatchGecko NATO strap. This NATO comes in a blue and white striped colour to match the dial, as well as a laser-engraved buckle featuring the Christopher Ward and WatchGecko logos. It’s a strictly limited edition of 50 and rarely comes up on the secondhand market.
Condition and performance
The watch is in excellent condition.
Case: Clean, no visible marks
Bezel: Clea, no visible marks
Crystal: Clear, no marks
Supplied on a CW Vintage Tiber leather strap in very good condition.
Comes boxed with owner’s manual, cleaning cloth and warranty booklet/card. It also comes with a second strap - a Watchgecko yellow NATO with a CW/Watchgecko branded buckle. I think the original came with a blue/white NATO, so I’m not sure whether others came in a different colour, or this NATO has been replaced.
Timegrapher: Approximately +5 seconds per day.

Head only: £40 reduction
Replacement of existing strap for a standard unworn CW strap: £10 increase
Additional standard unworn CW strap: £50 increase
