Description
The C5 Malvern Automatic is the watch that started it all for Christopher Ward. Introduced in 2005 in its original 38mm Mk1 form it was CW’s first watch and the model that put the brand on the map. The Mk1 ran from 2005 to 2012, followed by the Mk2, which increased the case size to 39mm and covered the period from 2012 to 2016. The Mk III, launched in January 2017, retained the 39mm size and represented a clear visual reset while remaining recognisably a Malvern.
Released in January 2022, the C5 Malvern Revival Special Edition is a 250‑piece limited edition based directly on the original C5 Malvern Automatic introduced in 2005. Rather than continuing the later Mk II and Mk III line, the Revival deliberately references the first‑generation C5, with design details taken straight from the original watch. Those details include the original hand shapes, applied indices, stepped dial and the V1 Christopher Ward logo. The layout is familiar to anyone who knows the early C5, but the execution is updated.
The case is borrowed from the C1 Grand Malvern line, increasing the size to 40.5mm and giving the watch a more sculpted profile than the original. The date is repositioned to six o’clock, cleaning up the dial while keeping the overall design intact. The result is a watch that stays close to the 2005 C5 in look and intent, but benefits from a more modern case and finishing.

Condition and performance
The watch is in excellent condition with only minor signs of careful use.
Supplied on a CW vintage oak leather strap in nearly new condition.
Comes boxed, with manual, warranty booklet/card and cleaning cloth.
