Description
Launched in August 2017, the C7 Rapide Mk3 series marked a full reset for Christopher Ward’s motorsport watches. Although CW never formally used a Mk3 designation, the update was obvious across both quartz and automatic models. The range adopted a cleaner, more coherent case design, moved to predominantly bi‑compax chronograph layouts, and introduced the Twin‑flag logo at 12 o’clock, removing the Christopher Ward wordmark from the dial entirely. This shift aligned the C7 with the brand’s wider design language at the time and represented a clear step away from the more fragmented visual identity of earlier motorsport models.
Introduced in June 2018 as a limited edition of 200 pieces, the C7 Rosso Corsa COSC LE sits at the more technical end of that Mk3 family. It uses a four‑piece black DLC case with a matte red aluminium outer band, giving the watch its distinctive profile. The dial, finished in Italian Racing Red, features double‑height Arabic numerals that are polished around the perimeter and filled with Super‑LumiNova®. Unlike the Mk3 quartz models, the Rosso Corsa is powered by a COSC‑certified automatic chronograph movement, positioning it as a higher‑spec variant within the refreshed C7 line. The result is a watch that combines the settled Mk3 design language with a more expressive material palette, while retaining the underlying structure and intent of the reworked motorsport range.
