Quick facts

Description

The C65 range only really came into focus in 2018. Earlier uses of the name were essentially variations on the C60 and never quite stood on their own. That changed with the release of the C65 Trident Diver, which marked Christopher Ward’s first deliberate move into the retro dive space and the point at which the C65 became a platform rather than a side note. This was also the first diver to use the Light Catcher case, bringing a more sculpted profile to a category that had previously been more utilitarian in CW’s lineup. From there the C65 expanded into a broader family covering vintage divers, military watches and more experimental models and in the process began to rival the C60 as the brand’s defining dive line.

Introduced in April 2020, the C65 GMT Worldtimer was the first Christopher Ward dive watch to combine both GMT and worldtimer functionality. A fixed 24‑hour ring sits around the edge of the blackened dial, finished in yellow and white for clear day and night reference. The GMT hand, edged in yellow, is driven by the Sellita SW330 movement and can be used to track a second time zone independently, giving the watch genuine dual‑time capability alongside its dive credentials.

The new element for the C65 family was the addition of a worldtimer bezel, marked with city names to allow global time to be read at a glance. For legibility, this bezel increases the overall diameter to 42mm, around 1mm larger than the main case. The result is a watch that looks busier than a standard C65 at first glance, but remains logically laid out and usable once you understand the system. It is a more complex take on the C65 idea and one of the range’s more tool‑orientated executions, combining travel and diving functions without losing the underlying vintage influence.
