Description
For a long time CW was missing a proper everyday automatic. There were great divers and interesting one‑offs, but nothing that really nailed the brief of a watch you could put on every morning and not think about. When the Sealander arrived in April 2021 they pretty much hit it out of the park. The 39mm size worked for most wrists and the case wore slimmer than the numbers suggested. The design was straightforward, it worked on a bracelet or a strap and it didn’t look out of place in any setting.
The C63 SH21 Snow Leopard (along with its sister release, the Blue Marine Foundation) is widely regarded as the last hurrah of Christopher Ward's SH21 movement. Its defining features are:
It was released in March 2023 as one of two limited editions of 150 pieces and was the first Sealander to use Christopher Ward's in-house SH21 calibre.
It is powered by the SH21 automatic movement, bringing a five-day power reserve, a power reserve indicator and higher-level movement finishing visible through a sapphire caseback.
It features a distinctive white textured dial inspired by the snow leopard and its mountain habitat. The pattern gives the watch a unique visual identity within the Sealander range and is complemented by subtle ice-blue accents.
The SH21 is housed in the familiar 41mm Sealander case, combining Christopher Ward's flagship movement with one of its most versatile everyday watch designs.
Produced in support of the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation, 5% of profits were donated to the charity's snow leopard conservation work.
It sold out rapidly on release, reflecting both the appeal of the SH21 movement and the desirability of a limited-edition Sealander.
