Description
The C1 range was Christopher Ward’s dress‑watch collection. It sat apart from the brand’s sport and dive models and focused on classical proportions, restrained dial layouts and mechanical credibility. The emphasis was on balance and clarity rather than complication or visual impact.
Introduced in March 2017, the C1 Morgan Aero 8 Chronometer formed part of Christopher Ward’s collaboration with the Morgan Motor Company. The Aero 8 takes the same C1 dress‑watch framework but applies it more explicitly to an automotive theme, drawing on the design language of Morgan’s Aero 8 model. The 40.5mm stainless steel case houses a distinctive concentric black and white dial, with the Morgan logo positioned at twelve o’clock in place of Christopher Ward branding. A small seconds sub‑dial sits at six o’clock, with a power reserve indicator at nine, giving the dial a more instrument‑led layout while remaining balanced.
The watch is powered by a hand‑wound chronometer‑rated movement, offering a full five‑day power reserve. Manual winding suits the watch’s character and helps keep the case profile controlled despite the added dial information. Within the C1 Morgan range, the Aero 8 Chronometer sits as the more overtly themed model, combining traditional dress‑watch proportions with a clearer motorsport influence than the Classic version.
