Bel Canto marked a shift in how Christopher Ward was perceived, introducing a sonnerie au passage that chimes once on the hour and presenting it with an unusually open dial‑side construction. The striking hammer and supporting bridgework are visible on the dial, giving the mechanism space rather than compressing it into a decorative display. The approach follows a line of thinking seen previously in CW’s JJ‑calibre projects, placing a mechanical event directly in view. Finishing is controlled and functional, with lightly chamfered dial structures and a layout that prioritises clarity. The model sold out quickly on release, received significant critical recognition, and established Bel Canto as a technically ambitious watch that built on earlier experimental work within the brand.
Introduced as a showroom and event exclusive, the Bel Canto Dragonfly took one of Christopher Ward's most successful modern watches and paired it with a dial colour already familiar to many enthusiasts from the C63 Sealander GMT Dragonfly Blue. It retained the same chiming FS01 movement, exposed hammer and dial-side architecture as the standard Bel Canto, with the main change being the distinctive blue-green dial.
Limited availability through Christopher Ward showrooms and events also means far fewer people encountered one in the wild than the regular production models.

Condition and performance
The watch is in very good condition, with just a light mark on the bezel at 35 mins.
Supplied on a CW vintage oak leather strap with titanium buckle.
Comes boxed with cleaning cloth and warranty booklet/card.
