Description
The Twelve has become one of the most successful and recognisable designs in Christopher Ward’s modern catalogue. Since its launch it has been widely well received, not just as a single model but as a platform, expanding across sizes, materials and dial options while keeping a clear and consistent identity. At its core, it is an integrated sports watch designed to sit comfortably between sport and dress and to be worn regularly rather than treated as a statement piece.
Introduced in December 2025, The Twelve Midnight was originally intended to be a bespoke edition of just 80 pieces. Christopher Ward staff were apparently so taken with the finished watch that, with the blessing of the original bespoke customer, production was extended to a limited edition of 300.
This 38mm automatic pairs a black lacquered dial with an inner chapter ring, a feature introduced to secure the thinner lacquered dial in place. More importantly, it adds a genuine sense of depth to the watch, with the dial appearing to sit lower within the case than on standard versions of the Twelve. The result is subtle rather than dramatic, but it gives the Midnight its own identity within the wider Twelve range.
