Description
The C13 and C15 Henleys were Christopher Ward’s first square‑cased watches and arrived at a time when most of the range was built around traditional round cases. The Henley introduced a bowed square design that gave the watch a very different look to the rest of the catalogue, while still retaining the clean and straightforward approach that characterised the early CW years.
Released in September 2008, the C15 Henley Automatic is a 39 × 39 mm automatic dress watch housed in that distinctive curved case. The dial is simple, with applied markers and a clean layout that puts the emphasis on the shape of the watch rather than additional complications. The concept would later evolve into the C11 family, and later the Slimline Square, which could be seen as its spiritual successor. Even so, square cases have remained the exception rather than the rule within the Christopher Ward catalogue. Models such as the Henley were largely confined to the brand's early years, making them a relatively uncommon part of its history today.
