Description
The C5 Malvern Automatic is the watch that started it all for Christopher Ward. Introduced in 2005 in its original 38mm Mk1 form it was CW’s first watch and the model that put the brand on the map. The Mk1 ran from 2005 to 2012, followed by the Mk2, which increased the case size to 39mm and covered the period from 2012 to 2016. The Mk III, launched in January 2017, retained the 39mm size and represented a clear visual reset while remaining recognisably a Malvern.
The C5 Malvern Mk2 sits within that second phase of the model’s life and evolved in a couple of respects Firstly, the two-piece dial was replaced with a single layer galvanic dial that looks stunning; secondly, the case diameter was increased marginally to 39mm, though retaining the 18mm lug width of the Mk 1.
