Bel Canto marked a shift in how Christopher Ward was perceived, introducing a sonnerie au passage that chimes once on the hour and presenting it with an unusually open dial‑side construction. The striking hammer and supporting bridgework are visible on the dial, giving the mechanism space rather than compressing it into a decorative display. The approach follows a line of thinking seen previously in CW’s JJ‑calibre projects, placing a mechanical event directly in view. Finishing is controlled and functional, with lightly chamfered dial structures and a layout that prioritises clarity. The model sold out quickly on release, received significant critical recognition, and established Bel Canto as a technically ambitious watch that built on earlier experimental work within the brand.
Released in December 2022 for delivery in 2023, this model was introduced in response to the strong demand following the November 2022 limited editions. Rather than another fixed run, Christopher Ward moved to an open series model offered on pre‑order for a limited window. Four dial colours were available: Rosa (pink), Cielo (sky blue), Nero (black) and Viola (purple). The approach allowed wider access to what had previously been harder to obtain models, while keeping the same core design and specification.

Condition and performance
The watch is in excellent condition - no issues identified.
Supplied on a bader bracelet in very good used condition, with just a couple of light marks picked up desk-diving. It will fit a wrist up to c. 7.75 inches - more links available if required.
Comes boxed with owner’s manual, cleaning cloth and warranty booklet/card.
