Category: Adventure

Buy it if you want: The cleanest take on the Dune before texture entered the picture
Description
Introduced in January 2023, the C65 Dune Mk1 was a straightforward field watch with little interest in standing out. The dial was simple and flat, with evenly sized applied indices, conventional hands and no texture beyond a matte finish. Lume was functional rather than characterful and the overall layout prioritised legibility over personality. If you came to it expecting something distinctive it could feel almost anonymous.
That quality is exactly what divides opinion. In practice, when people get in touch looking for a Dune, requests split almost evenly between the Mk1 and the later Aeolian models. Some want the added texture and visual interest, others prefer the Mk1 precisely because it avoids it. For collectors, that makes the Mk1 less a stepping stone and more a fork in the road. It is the version you choose if you value restraint and clarity over surface detail and its continued appeal sits alongside the Aeolian rather than beneath it.
