Quick facts

Description

The C65 range only really came into focus in 2018. Earlier uses of the name were essentially variations on the C60 and never quite stood on their own. That changed with the release of the C65 Trident Diver, which marked CW’s first deliberate move into the retro dive space and the point at which the C65 became a platform rather than a side note. This was also the first diver to use the Light‑catcher case, bringing a more sculpted and fluid profile to a category that had previously been more utilitarian in CW’s lineup. From there the C65 quickly expanded into a broader family, covering vintage divers, military styles and more experimental offshoots, and in the process began to rival the C60 as the brand’s defining dive watch.

Released in August 2018, this is a 150 piece Limited Edition featuring the manual-wind SH21/KD movement in a C5191 bronze (CuSn6) case. All features of the base C65 Trident Diver are also included, with the addition of a date window at 3:00 and small seconds dial at 6:00.

It’s a wonderful piece and one I get asked about quite often. It’s a limited edition of only 150 - they rarely hit the used market. I really like the small details on this one – the dates for 7, 17 and 27 all use a crossed 7, like you see in Europe. No idea why, but it’s those little quirks that add a bit of character to the watch.
