Description
For a long time CW was missing a proper everyday automatic. There were great divers and interesting one‑offs, but nothing that really nailed the brief of a watch you could put on every morning and not think about. When the Sealander arrived in April 2021, they pretty much hit it out of the park. The 39 mm GMT version extends the same formula with a second time zone without complicating the design
At 39 mm, the case size works well on most wrists and wears slimmer than its dimensions suggest. The GMT hand is integrated cleanly into the dial, preserving legibility and keeping the watch feeling balanced rather than busy. Build quality is solid without feeling delicate, and the overall design remains neutral enough to work on a bracelet or strap. It’s an easy watch to live with day to day, offering added practicality while retaining the simplicity that defines the Sealander line.
This particular version is the COSC Silver Special Edition, built and released for the July 2024 sale. Limited to just 50 pieces, it pairs a simple silver dial with a Sellita SW330‑2 COSC movement. As you’d expect, it sold out quickly. The changes are meaningful, adding chronometer‑rated accuracy and a more refined look without altering the underlying formula.
