Description
Introduced in September 2010, the C60 Trident Mk1 GMT built directly on the original Trident Pro dive watch, adding a second time zone without altering the core design. The same 43 mm case, disciplined dial layout and trident seconds hand are all present, but the addition of a red GMT hand and a 24‑hour bezel gives the watch a broader use without overcomplicating it. Early advertising made reference to the Rolex GMT‑Master of the 1950s, and while the visual cues are easy to spot, the execution remains firmly within the Trident framework.
The GMT function is handled via the ETA 2893‑2 calibre, a proven movement that allows a second time zone to be tracked using the 24‑hour hand. Unlike some GMT designs, the hour hand cannot be adjusted independently, so the watch is best understood as a practical dual‑time display rather than a true traveller’s GMT. The layout remains clear and easy to read, with the red GMT hand providing just enough contrast to stand apart from the main timekeeping hands. As part of the early Mk1 range, it sits at the point where the Trident was still evolving, but already recognisable as the foundation of everything that followed.
