Description
May 2019 saw the launch of the Mk3 C60 Trident, with Christopher Ward successfully refining and improving its best‑selling dive watch. The watch offered here was never publicly listed. Instead, it was made available exclusively to Royal Navy Submariners via a restricted page on the Christopher Ward website, in line with how the brand has handled most of its bespoke service commissions.
This is the third Submariners’ watch produced by Christopher Ward. The first was based on the C60 Mk1 Pro, the second on the C60 Mk2 300 quartz, and this example is based on the 42mm C60 Pro 600 Mk3. Of the three, it represents the most fully realised execution, benefiting from the Mk3 case, dial and bezel updates that defined this generation of the Trident.
What sets this version apart further is the caseback. While it is often described as the first Submariners’ C60 to feature an exhibition caseback, the accompanying documentation confirms that it was in fact the first C60 of any type to use a clear caseback. That detail alone makes it a notable point in the Trident timeline, combining a restricted military commission with a feature that would only later appear in regular production models.
