Moonphase watches have a long and distinguished history. Long before they became decorative complications, they were practical tools, one of the clearest ways of tracking the passage of months by following the lunar cycle. The complication has always sat at the intersection of science and romance, useful as well as beautiful.
The C1 Grand Malvern Moonphase presents the complication in a traditional dress‑watch format. The dial is clean and balanced, with applied indices and a conventional layout. The moonphase display is integrated without drawing undue attention to itself and the texture of the dial is just wonderful - particularly the contrast between the moon and the main part of the dial.
The watch is powered by the JJ04 calibre, which uses a high‑precision gearing system rather than the simplified approach found in most moonphase watches. When correctly set and kept running, the display remains accurate to one day every 128 years. The emphasis here is on accuracy and proportion rather than display.

Condition and performance
The watch is in very good condition with visible but light signs of wear.
Supplied on a CW cordovan leather - they are brilliant. In very good used condition.
Comes boxed with owner’s manual and certificate of authenticity, cleaning cloth and covering letter.
Timegrapher: Approximately +5 seconds per day.
Strap options
Subject to availability, standard unworn CW straps comprise vintage oak leather, hybrid, rubber and tropic.
