Description
The C4 Peregrine dates from Christopher Ward’s earliest period, when the brand’s identity was still forming and the catalogue was exploratory by nature. By 2006, CW’s range had expanded from its two launch models to include the C1 through C6, all sharing a common design language and carrying “SWISS MOVT” on the dial rather than “Swiss Made”. The C4 occupied the motorsport‑inspired end of that early range, positioned as a multifunction chronograph rather than a pure racing timer. It reflects a moment when CW was experimenting with features and layouts to broaden its appeal before its long‑term families had properly settled.
The Peregrine itself is powered by the ISA 8174‑220 quartz movement, making it a unique watch in the CW catalogue as the only model to combine a chronograph with a mechanical alarm function. The case measures 42 mm, with a conventional round profile and a legible, multi‑register dial offered in a wide range of colour combinations. A small but distinctive detail is the peregrine falcon counterbalance on the chronograph seconds hand, a visual touch that gives the watch its name. Water resistance is a modest 50 metres, underscoring that this is a functional everyday chronograph rather than a sports tool.
