Description
The C60 Trident Mk2 refined rather than reinvented what came before it. Building on the Mk1, it replaced aluminium bezels with ceramic, shifted dial markers from pips to batons, upsized the crown and doubled water resistance from 300 m to 600 m, establishing the Trident Pro 600 identity. The automatic range expanded significantly in both size and colour, and the line matured into something broader and more confident. Later Mk2 evolutions brought the move to the 9‑o’clock wordmark logo, and taken as a whole, the Mk2 era is where the Trident became the modern CW diver most people recognise.
This 38 mm Mk2 Bronze was Christopher Ward’s first use of bronze within the Trident line and was based directly on the existing Mk2 architecture. Introduced in 2017 (with the 38mm released in May 2018), it retained the standard Mk2 layout, dimensions and 600‑metre rating, with the change focused solely on case material. The bronze alloy was paired with a matte blue dial and ceramic bezel, with all other elements — baton markers, enlarged crown and automatic movement — unchanged from the stainless‑steel models. Produced alongside both 38 mm and 43 mm Mk2 variants, the bronze version marked the beginning of CW’s later experimentation with alternative case materials, while remaining mechanically and proportionally a conventional Mk2 Trident.
