Bel Canto marked a shift in how Christopher Ward was perceived, introducing a sonnerie au passage that chimes once on the hour and presenting it with an unusually open dial‑side construction. The striking hammer and supporting bridgework are visible on the dial, giving the mechanism space rather than compressing it into a decorative display. The approach follows a line of thinking seen previously in CW’s JJ‑calibre projects, placing a mechanical event directly in view. Finishing is controlled and functional, with lightly chamfered dial structures and a layout that prioritises clarity. The model sold out quickly on release, received significant critical recognition, and established Bel Canto as a technically ambitious watch that built on earlier experimental work within the brand.
Introduced on pre‑order in June 2024 for a limited time window as an unlimited edition, The Red One is a C1 Bel Canto created in collaboration with Andrew Morgan Watches. It features an “Intense Red” platine, making it one of the most visually assertive Bel Canto variants to date, while retaining the same exposed hammer, central time display and manually activated hourly chime. It’s a gorgeous sunray red - looks stunning in the sun.
The watch was offered on a choice of white or grey straps, or on the Bader titanium bracelet, with no mechanical changes from the standard Bel Canto architecture.

Condition and performance
The watch is in nearly new condition - no issues identified.
Supplied on a CW bracelet with ratchet micro-adjust and quick release lugs that looks unworn. Complete with all spare links.
Also comes with the (uncut) and unworn De lugs strap originally issued with them.
Comes boxed with owner’s manual, cleaning cloth and warranty booklet/card as well as the original accessories - the socks and pin.
