Description
For a long time CW was missing a proper everyday automatic. There were strong divers and interesting one‑offs, but nothing that really nailed the idea of a watch you could put on every morning and not think about. When the Sealander arrived in April 2021, they got the fundamentals right straight away. The design was clean without being dull, the proportions were well judged and the watch felt solid without feeling precious. It worked on a bracelet or a strap and never felt out of place.
Released in February 2023, the C63 Sealander 36 mm Foxglove was part of a limited three‑watch follow‑up to the original colours introduced the previous summer, with 150 pieces per version. Based on the standard C63 Sealander Automatic, it paired the smaller 36 mm case with a gradient dial that darkens towards the edge, adding depth without changing the character of the watch. The size answered growing demand for a more compact Sealander. You do not see many of these come up, and when they do they tend to move quickly, which says a lot about how well judged the combination turned out to be.
