Quick facts

Description

The C63 Valour holds an unusual place in CW’s line‑up. In March 2021, CW announced the end of the line for quartz watches, marking the moment with a final hurrah in the form of the C65 AM 1 VEV and AM 2 VEV special editions. Quartz was framed as something the brand had moved beyond. Its quiet return, glossing over that earlier announcement, came instead via the Military Collection, where accuracy, robustness and ease of use take priority over mechanical sentiment. In that context, the Valour’s thermo‑compensated quartz chronograph feels less like a reversal and more like a deliberate response, aligned with modern military requirements and the watch’s motorsport‑influenced, instrument‑led design language.

Introduced in March 2024, the C63 Valour was formally approved by the Ministry of Defence and dedicated to all three Services, bringing a chronograph into CW’s open‑series military line. It uses the tried and tested Sealander’s 39 mm Light‑catcher case which keeps it compact and wearable, while the ETA G10.212 AD COSC‑certified thermo‑compensated quartz movement claims a tolerance of ±10 seconds per year. The reverse panda dial uses applied numerals and indices, with sub‑dial hands coloured red, dark blue and light blue to represent the British Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force. As a final mark of respect, the caseback carries the crown insignia of Queen Elizabeth II.
