Description
The Malvern range sits at the very beginning of Christopher Ward’s story. When the brand launched in 2005, there were just two models: the C5 Malvern Automatic and the C3 Malvern Chronograph, the latter powered by a Swiss quartz movement. These two watches established the template that CW would follow for years afterwards—British‑led design, Swiss manufacture and a focus on value over theatre. The Malvern name itself became shorthand for the brand’s more classical, restrained side and remained a constant through its early growth.
The watch offered here is the third and final incarnation of the C3 Malvern Chronograph, released in 2017. By this point Christopher Ward had significantly refined its design language, and the Mk III introduced a new case shape, cleaner dial layout and more balanced proportions than earlier versions. It was offered with black, blue or white dial options, alongside a wide selection of strap colours, allowing it to sit comfortably as a versatile everyday chronograph rather than a purely dress‑led piece. Production of the Mk III came to an end in 2019, marking the quiet retirement of one of CW’s original core lines.
At 39mm, the C3 Malvern Chronograph Mk III wears neatly on the wrist, aided by a slim 10.8mm profile and gently curved lugs. The two‑register chronograph layout is clear and legible, with subtle motorsport cues that never overwhelm the overall design. Power comes from a Swiss Ronda 3520.D quartz chronograph movement, chosen for accuracy, reliability and ease of ownership.

Supplied on a CW Vintage oak leather in lightly worn condition.
