SOLD WH1617A C5 Malvern Aviator Mk1 automatic (January 2007)
CHRISTOPHER WARD C5 MALVERN AVIATOR AUTOMATIC
Introduction
Based on Christopher Ward’s first ever watch, the Mk1 Malvern Automatic, the C5 Aviator Limited Edition was originally launched in June 2006 as a limited edition of 1936 pieces. Available in a brushed stainless steel case with either black or white dial. An automatic watch with date window, it used either the ETA 2824-2 or the Sellita SW200-1 movement. The watch has lumed leaf hands and Arabic numerals with a triangle index at 12 o'clock. Numbered indices for seconds are on the inner chapter ring.
This is a black version, numbered 240, dating from January 2007. It’s a very collectable piece which only comes up rarely - I’ve not seen many of them change hands in recent times.
Warranty
It comes with a Ward Hoard six month warranty.
Strap
It comes on its well used original strap. Not many other options other than head only (discount of £10) as I don’t have many 18mm lug width straps. But please ask if you do want something else and I’ll have a rummage.
Condition
It’s coming up for 20 years old and has been worn, so there are a few marks on the case that reflects this. Overall, it’s a very good condition watch for its age, but it’s certainly not perfect.
It is keeping fantastic time on the timegrapher. No service history, but I suspect that it will have been serviced at some point in the past.
Supplied in the original CW inner and outer presentation cases and including the original owner’s handbook with Certificate of Authenticity.
Specifications
Case size: 38mm
Lug width: 18mm
Height: 10.8mm
Waterproof: 50m
Final Notes
The first photo is a library shot, the rest all show the actual watch and package.
