WH1493J C8 Flyer Mk2 Automatic 44mm (01/2019)
Christopher Ward C8 Flyer Mk2
Introduction
Christopher Ward has a long history of making aviation-inspired watches, starting with 2006’s C5 Malvern Aviator, which was based on CW’s first ever watch, the C5 Malvern. Their next aviator was… the C8, in its first iteration which was the Pilot Mk1 of 2008. While the C9, C10 and C11 have all offered aviation models, it’s the C8 case which has proved to be CW’s goto aviator case, having been used in over ten different models over the years including the current C8 Power Reserve and Al Deere special, which both sit near the top of the CW pricing scale.
No longer available from Christopher Ward, this C8 Pilot Mk2 was reintroduced in August 2017. It had new steel and DLC cases with an upgraded dial, still based on the original C8 Flyer based on the Cockpit clock of the Spitfire plane. It was retired in March 2019 so this is one of the last ones.
