Introduction
Whilst it’s mostly about CW, it’s not all about CW. There are some fantastic other brands out there that I’ve had as part of my own collection that operate a similar space to CW. I’m not talking your Rolex, Omega or Tudor, more your Halios, Pinion, Monta, anOrdian or Zero West.
This is one such smaller brand that’s carving out its own identity with real substance. Duckworth Prestex is a small British brand that has its own design language that feels authentic—not just a logo slapped on a generic case. Their watches have character, and while they might not have the same recognition as CW, they’re doing something genuinely interesting in that mid-tier enthusiast space.
What stands out to me was the attention to detail and the willingness to take design risks without veering into gimmick territory. They’re not trying to be something they’re not—they’re just quietly doing good work, and I think that deserves a bit more attention.
Dial Colour: A soft, pale blue that feels seasonal and understated—ideal for summer wear but versatile enough year-round.
Numerals & Hands: Classic Arabic numerals paired with BGW9 lume-filled hands for legibility. The black hands keep the dial clean and avoids clashing with the pastel tones. It’s a subtle choice that suits the overall aesthetic—quietly functional rather than flashy.
Bezel: Fixed 24-hour steel bezel, engraved Explorer II-style. It’s case-matched and solid, giving the watch a retro tool-watch vibe.
Condition
The watch itself is in lovely condition. It’s not been worn much, if at all. Tiny, tiny ding between 22 and 24. Comes boxed with papers, instruction manual. It comes on the stainless steel bracelet, complete with all spare links. Keeping great time as shown on the timegrapher.
