SOLD WH936 C1 Grand Malvern Jumping Hour opaline white (01/2019)
Christopher Ward C1 Grand Malvern Jumping Hour
Introduction
Released in April 2017, a few months after the introduction of the then new Christopher Ward logo, this C1 is Christopher Ward’s fourth Jumping Hour watch, following the line of C9 Mk1, 2 and 3.
This C1 version has a more sleek and modern look and feel compared to its more slab-sided C9 predecessor.
I’m a huge fan of these jumping hours - in case it isn’t obvious, it isn’t missing a hand…. the big hand is the minute hand and the hours are represented through the digits on the centre of the dial. When the hour ‘clicks’ over, it is incredibly satisfying!
The C1 Jumping Hour, which was available with black, white and blue faces, had a relatively short release window of just under two years, having been retired at the end of 2018. The watch in this listing is on of the last to be sold, in January 2019.
The hand is blued and really captures the light. The opaline dial is also stunning - it’s such a lovely watch this.
