CHRISTOPHER WARD C65 TRIDENT DIVER GMT ANTHROPOCENE LIMITED EDITION

Introduction

When Christopher Ward launched the retro style C65 Trident Diver in 2018 they will have hoped it was a success, but I doubt they were expecting it to be quite as successful as it has been. It’s been a great seller and has already spawned many different iterations and (now sold out) special editions - and this listing is for one of them.

The watch for sale here is a C65 Anthropocene Limited Edition watches - inspired by the Scottish Opera's Anthropocene and by the environmental issues we face. It was launched at the end of 2019 and sold out in mid 2020 - although CW did find a couple of ‘archive’ pieces (usually press/showroom type samples) under their sofa which were sold in early 2021.

It’s powered by the automatic GMT Sellita SW330-1 movement. If you’re not familiar with GMT watches, they feature an additional hour hand which takes 24 hours to complete one rotation of the dial - making it a perfect international travel partner. This is because you can set the regular hands to your local time and the 24h GMT hand to ‘home’, so you can instantly see the time and home and avoid accidentally calling your partner at 3 in the morning to say “hi”! By rotating the bezel, and therefore moving ‘midnight’ to elsewhere on the dial, you can create a third time zone.

Warranty

This is a September 2020 watch, so the CW transferable movement warranty has now expired. It’ll have a Ward Hoard warranty for six months from the date of purchase.

Strap options

It comes with a tan CW vintage leather strap in perfect condition

Other options are:

• Head only (discount of £40);

• Exchange for a brand new hybrid, leather or tide (increase of £10).

Condition:

It’s in excellent condition - no observable marks or scratches to mention. A lovely example.

It’s now keeping almost perfect time at -+2 spd on the timegrapher.

It comes boxed with papers. Comes in the original CW bamboo case with warranty booklet and card, owner’s manual and polishing cloth and original invoice.
