CHRISTOPHER WARD C3 GT MORGAN CHRONOGRAPH

Introduction

The C3 goes back, way back, to 2005 when CW had just two launch models: the C5 auto and the C3 chronograph quartz. The watch for sale in this listing takes the C3 Mk3 as its base and adds a decidedly motorsport-inspired face design. The C3 was launched in May 2018 with either green, white or blue face.

This particular collaboration model with Morgan was introduced in August 2018, and is essentially a variant of the C3 Grand Tourer, celebrating the association between Christopher Ward and the Morgan motor company.

It was retired in September 2019. The watch is a 39 mm bi-compax Chronograph, featuring blued steel hands with a luminous insert, and the Morgan logo at 12 o’clock on the dial, but this was one of a handful which found their way into the latest ‘archive find’ sale in August 2024, making it one of the very last of this model to leave CW.

Few would disagree when I say that the C3 got better with each release. By the time they reached the Mk3 the pushers had been refined to give a lovely action - a very nice quality ‘thunk’ when they’re pressed! The silver metallic dial catches and reflects any available light and the blued hands are a classy touch.

It’s a lovely thin watch, particularly with the light catcher case, it really hugs the wrist.

Warranty

It comes with the balance of the CW movement warranty through to August 2029.

Strap

It comes on a brand new tan CW tan canvas strap. These are stiff to start with but worth persevering as they are lovely straps.

Other options are head only - discount of £30, exchange for a brand new CW hybrid, leather or tide strap (increase of £20)

Condition

Fabulous condition - I can’t see a mark on it.

Supplied with bamboo case, cleaning cloth, warranty booklet and card and a letter explaining that the owner’s manual is now out of print, but directing you to the online version. .
