Introduction
Whilst it’s mostly about CW, it’s not all about CW. There are some fantastic other brands out there that I’ve had as part of my own collection that operate a similar space to CW. I’m not talking your Rolex, Omega or Tudor, more your Halios, Pinion, Monta, anOrdian or Zero West.
Whilst my focus is mainly on Christopher Ward, it’s not all about CW. There are some fantastic smaller brands operating in a similar space – think Halios, Pinion, Monta, anOrdain or Zero West. Ocean Crawler is one such brand, which has a great reputation and is known for producing rugged, adventure-ready dive watches with serious spec.
This is a special edition Core Diver GMT, an ultra-rare model with only 50 units per colour and 200 total worldwide. This one is number #60/200. RRP was originally £1,250.
The Core Diver GMT is a beast of a watch – built for extreme conditions, it’s no shrinking violet. It features an all-sapphire unidirectional rotating bezel with hour markers filled with seven layers of Swiss C3 lume for incredible visibility. Inside beats a Swiss SOPROD C125 movement, modified and regulated, running within COSC specs on the timegrapher.
Currently fitted on a sailcloth/leather strap, it also comes with a shark mesh bracelet (sized with plenty of spare links) and a cloth. Includes original box and metal warranty card (expired).
Condition
The watch itself is in very good condition. Crack on the bezel at around 3 o’clock.
