Christopher Ward C60 Trident GMT Automatic Mk1 43mm

The Mk1 C60 Trident hit the watch world in 2009. It was available in a Henry Ford style ‘any colour you want, as long as it’s black’. The initial price of just £300 was a ridiculous bargain and the watch was an instant hit.

In 2010 the price increased and so did the C60 range, thanks to the addition of two GMT models - one with white pips and one with orange, which cost £499 on leather/rubber or £580 on a bracelet.

In 2012, CW introduced the CHR. WARD logo, replacing the original round CW icon. However, the watch for sale here is a cross-over piece - it was sold in December 2013, but it features the original round CW icon on the face.

Condition

This is one of the best condition Mk1 GMTs I’ve ever seen and is in fantastic shape. The only real negative points are two light scratches on the bottom right lug - easily polished out by a competent person. There are also a few light scratches on the polished sections of the bracelet, but they’re the kind of things you see on a nine week old watch, so it’s amazing to see so few signs of use on a nine year old one!

The original CW stainless bracelet (with pop-out diver’s extension) has had two links removed, which are both included.

It’s a ‘full set’ watch which comes boxed with user guide/Certificate of Authenticity, unused polishing cloth and original covering letter. It even comes with the original invoice showing £590 paid (owner’s details removed).

On the Timegrapher it’s running at approx -15sec (brand new CW C60 GMTs have a factory tolerance of +/-20sec).

Final Notes

The first photo is a library shot, the rest all show the actual watch and package.

Fun (!) fact: CW stated these to be 42mm in the earlier user books, but they’re actually 43mm - an error which was corrected in later books
