Christopher Ward C60 Trident 300 Mk2 43mm

The Mk1 C60 Trident hit the watch world in 2009, but it was only available with an automatic movement. It wasn’t until 2015 and the arrival or the Mk2 Trident, that Christopher Ward introduced their first Quartz C60 model, which they named the Trident 300, after its 300m water depth rating (not to be confused with the all new Mk3 C60 300 which is an auto!). The Mk2 C60 300 is visually very similar to the Mk1 C60 Trident Pro, with just a couple of visual clues: 1) It just says “Trident” on the face, not “Trident Pro” and 2) the second hand ticks instead of sweeps.

This is a Feb 2016 watch which wears the CHR. WARD logo - in 2017 they switched to the current logo placed at 9 o’clock.

Being a quartz model, it doesn’t have the taller, tapered case back of its automatic cousin, so it sits a little lower on the wrist. For me, it actually sits much better on my 19cm wrist than the autos do!

Like the Mk1 C60s, the Mk3 also doesn’t have a quartz model available and CW has no plans to use quartz movements in the future. So if you’re looking to get a great condition quartz C60, here’s your chance because watches like this are coming up less and less.

Condition

With the C60 300s all having alloy bezels (as used on the Mk1 Pros), they’re more prone to marks than their ceramic C60 600 Pro big brothers, so lots of these are pretty battered after years of use. But this one hasn’t seen much action so it’s in fantastic condition. To the naked eye the head appears new on initial inspection. It’s only when you blow the pics up to the size of wall clocks that you start to notice occasional light blemishes.

It’s fitted with a brand new black Maratac composite rubber strap with orange stitching. Also included is the original CW orange leather strap which is in good used condition and has an extra hole made in the smallest position.
