Christopher Ward C60 Trident 600 GMT Mk2 38mm

Christopher Ward launched the Mk2 C60 Trident Pro 600 in early 2015. By far its biggest improvement over the Mk1 was the ultra scratch-resistant ceramic bezel. One other great update for the bracelet models was the new ratchet micro adjuster. And another new arrival with the Mk2 was the availability of a 38mm GMT model - the Mk1 GMT was only ever available in the 43mm case size.

The watch for sale here is a 38mm black bezel, black face GMT model. C60 GMT watches feature an additional hand which takes 24 hours to complete one rotation of the dial and making it a perfect international travel partner. This is because you can set the regular hands to your local time and the GMT hand to ‘home’, so you can instantly see the time and home and avoid accidentally calling your partner at 3 in the morning to say “hi” and tell them about your day! By rotating the bezel, and therefore moving midnight to elsewhere on the dial, you can create a third time zone.

Condition
It’s a December 2016 watch, so it’s approaching five years old, but the condition suggests it’s far younger. The bracelet is in great condition with just some very light blemishes to the polished centre links and very light desk-diving marks on the clasp - all of which could easily be removed by a suitably skilled enthusiast or jeweller.

The Sapphire and bezel are spotless and the case is in almost new condition - just the occasional tiny hairlines. The polished area of the case back has a few light marks caused by setting the watch down on the bracelet.

It’s supplied in its original box and includes the original covering letter and original invoice showing a purchase price of £602 - a handsome 30% discount from the £840 list price. It’s unfortunately missing its owner’s book with Certificate of Authenticity - however the original movement warranty has now expired anyway.

On the timegrapher it’s showing to be running at approx. -6sec per day, which is well inside the +/-20sec stated by CW for this model.

In summary, it’s a fantastic condition example of a lovely GMT diver in perfect working order - you’ll be unlikely to find another one in this condition at this price.
