CHRISTOPHER WARD C20 LIDO AUTOMATIC

Launched in 2010, the C20 Lido was CW’s first automatic 40mm diameter watch. It’s the sister watch to the C2 Lido, which was launched in 2008 and had a quartz movement. I guess it was a bit ahead of its time with that case size, because sales weren’t amazing and it was several years until they did another 40mm watch - the C9 was the second watch to have a 40mm case and the 40mm Mk3 C60 Trident has been a roaring success.

The C20 Lido Auto was retired in 2012 (when the bracelet model cost £500), but this particular model slipped out of Park Street in April 2013, making it one of the youngest you’re likely to find. It’s more common to see C2 and C20s fitted with leather straps, so it’s a nice bonus for this one to have the less common and far longer-lasting bracelet option.

Condition

It’s an eight year old watch which has seen very little wrist time, as s result it’s in fantastic condition. The head is almost spotless - just the occasional tiny blemish/sign of use visible under very close inspection. Even the bracelet is in remarkable condition with just very light signs of use on the polished sections - which would easily polish out if you wanted it in like new condition.

Supplied as a ‘full set’ including original presentation case, outer cardboard box, unused polishing cloth and owner’s book with Certificate of Authenticity - also includes the two links which had been removed from the bracelet.

In summary, a great watch and package. I’ve not seen one this tidy for many years and I’m unlikely to find another one like it any time soon!
